AED Registration
The Cherokee County E 9-1-1 Center is proud to announce the implementation of Georgia's Mason Sells AED Coordination Act and its partnership with PulsePoint, marking a significant advancement in the county's commitment to improving cardiac emergency response. Inspired by the tragic loss of Mason Sells and established through Senate Bill 399, the law requires Automated External Defibrillator (AED) owners to register their devices with their local 9-1-1 center, enabling emergency dispatchers to identify nearby AEDs and direct callers to these lifesaving resources when every second matters. This initiative strengthens the critical link between emergency communications, bystanders, and lifesaving technology to improve outcomes for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
Through its integration with PulsePoint, Cherokee County E 9-1-1 is expanding access to lifesaving care beyond the traditional emergency response model. PulsePoint enhances emergency response by maintaining an accessible AED registry. Together, the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act and PulsePoint create a more connected emergency response system—empowering dispatchers, first responders, and community members to work together to deliver faster intervention and increase the chances of survival during cardiac emergencies.
